A living guide, not another list

Cenote Scout exists to answer the practical questions behind a visit and give context to the land that makes it possible.

The mission

Better information for better decisions

Cenote information is scattered across maps, social media, blogs and local recommendations. Prices, hours and conditions change. Our job is to organise that information, show its status and make direct confirmation easier.

We also want to help spread visits out: when one site is saturated, a nearby lesser-known alternative can improve the experience and broaden local opportunities.

How we work

Trust is built one fact at a time

  1. 01We record the source and date of every update.
  2. 02We distinguish verified facts from reported or estimated information.
  3. 03We correct records with help from visitors and operators.

Editorial principles

  • We never present “100% safe”, “always open” or “guaranteed” as facts.
  • Sponsored placements, if introduced, will be visibly labelled.
  • A small community should not become invisible because it cannot pay.
  • Beauty does not replace practical information or cultural context.
Commitment to the territory

A fixed share, not a one-off donation

Cenote Scout does not generate revenue yet. Once the monetisation model is active, at least 10–20% of operating income will go to local data collection, compensation for territory collaborators and community partnerships — not as a one-off donation, but as a fixed part of the model from day one.
